Quilly Posted June 24, 2022 Posted June 24, 2022 (edited) Hi all, just noticed that Ashdown have updated my favorite small all tube amp, this time with some smart features like cabinet simulation software for studio use. Anyone out there took the plunge on it ? Edited June 24, 2022 by Quilly Quote

BassAdder60 Posted June 24, 2022 Posted June 24, 2022 Small gigs !! 30w might be ok on an acoustic set but seriously!! Its a studio / home amp surely and yes very pricey ! Quote
goonerjoe Posted June 25, 2022 Posted June 25, 2022 Lovely product, not sure on the price. I've got a LB30 and I've never been able to gig/rehearse with it so it's a bit of a luxury. Quote
JohnDaBass Posted June 25, 2022 Posted June 25, 2022 That looks fantastic, great amp with the addition of nearly ALL Ashdown cabs. I bet it would mate very nicely to a clean cab such as a Barefaced Super Compact. Please could someone enlighten me with regards to the 30w output from 4 x EL34? Back in the day Marshall, HiWatt, Selmer, Sound City, all produced 100w from 4 x EL34. Is it just the spec of the mains and output transformers that dictated the output power? 1 Quote

I replaced all the valves and boom it sounded fantastic. As for volume I’ve played one outdoor jazz gig and one indoor gig with guitarists using small amps and it was able to hold its own, though you need a good sensitive cab , I use a 4ohm barefaced two10. 1 Quote
