MoonBassAlpha Posted June 24, 2022 Posted June 24, 2022 Just tuned in. Sam Fender. Crowd love a good singalong. Quite dull musically. Anyone spotted anything good yet? Quote
SteveXFR Posted June 24, 2022 Posted June 24, 2022 I looked through the lineup. Over 300 bands and I found four I'd want to watch. Bland seems to be the theme this year. Musical beige. Quote
MoonBassAlpha Posted June 24, 2022 Author Posted June 24, 2022 St. Vincent. That's more like it. Is that a B.C. Rich bass? Looks and sounds cool! 3 Quote

MoonBassAlpha Posted June 24, 2022 Author Posted June 24, 2022 There's Mustang basses everywhere! Mum! Quote
Sibob Posted June 24, 2022 Posted June 24, 2022 (edited) Not watched any yet, but it’s probably the best line-up I’ve seen for a few years, nothing bland, strong headliners, music for allllll types of people. Which is very much welcomed. Si Edited June 24, 2022 by Sibob Quote

A definite lack of noisy music with Pigs x7 providing the only heavier music and Idles as the only other noisy. band. Of course that is just my opinion. Quote
alexa3020 Posted June 24, 2022 Posted June 24, 2022 (edited) Idles we’re good st Vincent we’re great - bass player is killing it! I think he plays with beck too what I saw of Robert Plant was pretty good too Edited June 24, 2022 by alexa3020 1 Quote

Leonard Smalls Posted June 24, 2022 Posted June 24, 2022 Just enjoyed Idles... St Vincent just a bit dull, Robert Plant much more dull... Wet Leg ok for Their Song, Little Simz, vox far too loud - backing barely noticeable. Quote
Jean-Luc Pickguard Posted June 24, 2022 Posted June 24, 2022 Really enjoyed Robert Plant & Alison Krauss. It was cool to see JMJ playing a blue mustang with St Vincent—I think it was one of his signature ones rather than his '67. Watching Billie Eilish currently & Fineas was playing a mustang bass a few songs ago. Quote
bigjohn Posted June 24, 2022 Posted June 24, 2022 Yeah Plant and Krauss were good. Jesus and Mary Chain best I've seen tonight. Little Simz bass player is great, but I just can't get on with them. Quote

steantval Posted June 24, 2022 Posted June 24, 2022 (edited) Quite enjoyed Crowded House, the only bit that spoilt it for me was having that young kid on the stage, why ? Some tasty bass work by Nick Seymour. Edited June 24, 2022 by steantval 2 Quote

Some tasty bass work by Nick Seymour. My thoughts exactly. Didn’t realise how much Nick played up the dusty end. Great band though, and (young kid aside) thought they came over really well. Caught a bit of St Vincent and will watch more on iPlayer over the weekend. Agree with above comments about the bassist too, sounded excellent. Watched Billie Eilish, not my thing particularly but the crowd loved her. Quote
drTStingray Posted June 25, 2022 Posted June 25, 2022 (edited) Of what I saw, Blossoms were a stand out - bass player used a Rickenbacker most of the time. Fender Jazz when they did the Spice Girls song with Mel C and Charlemagne at the end (and it wasn’t as audible as the Rick which had sounded really good). Sigrid was really good as well. Pinball Posted June 25, 2022 Posted June 25, 2022 I watched a bit last night. I live pretty close but I have to say big festivals aren't the way I like to enjoy music. I don't want to watch stick people in the distance or wander around looking for stuff. Would love to play it obviously. I missed some of the highlights above so will try and seek em out. My verdict so far as a TV viewer is that it was more interesting watching Eurovision with the wife. The effects and presentation on that were brilliant in comparison. Quote
Mykesbass Posted June 25, 2022 Posted June 25, 2022 Only seen Plant and Krauss so far. Fabulous set, great playing, but thought they would have worked far better on a smaller stage. 2 Quote
MrSpace Posted June 25, 2022 Posted June 25, 2022 Another recommendation from me for Idles, worth a watch on iPlayer if you like it loud and edgey. I missed Crowded House, I'll try and watch on iPlayer later. Looking forward to McCartney. 1 Quote
