SurlyJoe
I just bought this secondhand. I really like it. Shortscale. 30.3" I think. Was looking for a playable but not too expensive bass for noodling and recording. Single humbucker pup. I preferred this over the newer G2220 as it has a genuine Rosewood fretboard rather than Walnut on the G2220. Very deep sound to it. Came with flatwounds, which I thought I'd swap out, but, I really like em. Reminds me a bit of Peter Hooks sound on early Joy Division. Never expected such a small bass to have such a big sound. Can't find many online reviews of this but some specs say it's a Basswood body, but it feels heavy for Basswood more like Poplar. Really comfortable Maple neck. It has a nice low action and is easy to move around on. I nearly went the Squier route but I'm very glad I didn't. If I had any criticism I'd say it's a little quieter on the low E (acoustically too). But I've heard this is common on shortscale basses. But it goes nice and low freq on the E. More than happy with it overall. Edited June 25, 2022 by SurlyJoe spelling
Newfoundfreedom
I used to have a G2220 and was always amazed by how big (no pun intended) it sounded. Great little basses these.
Frank Blank
I almost bought one of these a few years back, I was amazed at the quality and the sound for the price, it was a little to heavy for me (surprisingly) but all in all cracking basses.
