Pea Turgh Posted June 26, 2022 Posted June 26, 2022 Watching Glasto on the tele with my family, I like to ID the basses for them (I know they really appreciate and the tutting is just for show). This one had me stumped though. What is this bass? Quote
MichaelDean Posted June 26, 2022 Posted June 26, 2022 I've also got no idea and would like to know! It looks cool! 1 Quote
MichaelDean Posted June 26, 2022 Posted June 26, 2022 I found the bassist on Instagram. I've pm'd him... 1 Quote

Fishfacefour Posted June 26, 2022 Posted June 26, 2022 (edited) It's a Trent I think. They make some tasty looking offset guitars. https://www.trentguitars.com/ Edited June 26, 2022 by Fishfacefour Added url 1 1 Quote

ezbass Posted June 26, 2022 Posted June 26, 2022 Top detective work @Fishfacefour. They are ugly, for sure, but then so is the Mustang to some (at least I used to think so). However, they do have a certain something. Quote
ambient Posted June 26, 2022 Posted June 26, 2022 Maybe his mum bought it for him ouf of her catalogue? 5 Quote
Fishfacefour Posted June 27, 2022 Posted June 27, 2022 I saw a really nice long build thread on the fretboard forum about them when I was laid up with covid a couple of months back. The maker seems really nice and happy to share the process. https://thefretboard.co.uk/discussion/207911/trent-guitars I've no affiliation and could never afford one anyway, but some nice pics of the build process. 1 Quote
toneknob Posted June 28, 2022 Posted June 28, 2022 Michael League appears to have left his usual bass at home and had to use whatever the venue had lying around. Any ideas? (I fully expect to be told it's some mega-$$$ boutique bass now) Quote
Muzz Posted June 28, 2022 Posted June 28, 2022 Is it just me, or is the headstock on the first bass monumentally huge? Quote
jazzmanb Posted June 28, 2022 Posted June 28, 2022 Always spot a few Kays catalogue type guitars on these weekends ,sound mans dream I do love that flat thud bass sound mind from some of the old semis and stuff Quote

Muzz Posted June 28, 2022 Posted June 28, 2022 So everything else is small except the headstock? Makes sense... 😀 Quote

And that weird headstock instrument above has a flamed maple neck, so perhaps just not that familiar shape rather than Kay’s catalogue. Quote

(I fully expect to be told it's some mega-$$$ boutique bass now) As has been mentioned above, it's a Bacci. To be precise, it's a Bacci Amrita LTD Animal Tonal, with a heavily reliced, alder body. Just listened to the Snarky Puppy set on iPlayer. Not really my thing and ML's tone seemed to all fundamental and not much else. However, for the type of thing SP do, it worked, it certainly stayed out of the way of all the other instruments. Quote
