ossyrocks Posted June 29, 2022 Posted June 29, 2022 Their social media is full of announcements. Their website is running a countdown timer, ticking down until tomorrow. What can we expect? It’s all very hush hush at the moment. Rob Quote
spongebob Posted June 29, 2022 Posted June 29, 2022 Saw that. Was trying to access the site, but all you get is the countdown! 🤣 Quote
thodrik Posted June 29, 2022 Posted June 29, 2022 An announcement that they will from now on exclusively build all valve amps and matching 4x12s and 2x15 cabs would perhaps be unlikely. I would guess that they announce a range of class D amps that can also act as an audio interface, perhaps also including an inbuilt cab sim. Something like that. 1 Quote
ryancowell25 Posted June 29, 2022 Posted June 29, 2022 Could it be a a customisable modular bass amp that allows the player to use a variety of different preamps, EQs, or master controls to dial in just the right sound for their particular needs with the ability to mix and match various modules? Again........ Quote
ryancowell25 Posted June 29, 2022 Posted June 29, 2022 or A Digital amp head that offers bassists an incredible wide range of virtual bass amps, both modern and vintage, speaker cabs and microphones, studio and stompbox effects, and a powerful stereo amp... in a practical rack mountable unit Quote
ryancowell25 Posted June 29, 2022 Posted June 29, 2022 Whatever it is......... get one before it's instantly discontinued. 1 2 Quote
Linus27 Posted June 29, 2022 Posted June 29, 2022 I'm going go out on a limb and say a Mark King edition head. 100% a guess so probably totally wrong hehe Quote
fretmeister Posted June 29, 2022 Posted June 29, 2022 I think it’s new lighter cabs. MB were very light but now GR and BF are far lighter. So I think they are aiming at that. Quote
fretmeister Posted June 30, 2022 Posted June 30, 2022 Whatever it is, it is called the MB58R Live stream on this afternoon apparently. Quote

It will be interesting to see if they have some original thinking up their sleeve. Quote
40hz Posted June 30, 2022 Posted June 30, 2022 Looking at the post, it's almost surely something to do with lightweight cabs. So to be revolutionary (if that's what the reveal is) they'd have to be lighter than Barefaced and GR Aero cabs? Quote
fretmeister Posted June 30, 2022 Posted June 30, 2022 They've finally got to the point. New lightweight cabs - made in Italy. Quote
Merton Posted June 30, 2022 Posted June 30, 2022 Get the impression he thinks he’s Steve Jobs announcing the first iPhone. It’s a bass cab…. 2 1 Quote
fretmeister Posted June 30, 2022 Posted June 30, 2022 Yeah - I'm sure they'll be great, but what a dull presentation! And although Richard Bona can really play, 99% of bassists just don't care about that stuff. Quote

ossyrocks Posted June 30, 2022 Author Posted June 30, 2022 (edited) There must be a lot of people interested in their new cabs. The website has crashed! Being someone who has to look after their back, I'm definitely interested, but I can't see them yet because of the website issues. Rob Edit: finally in but it's REALLY slow. Looks like a brand new website too. 20 new cabinets ! That's a LOT Edited June 30, 2022 by ossyrocks Quote

ossyrocks Posted June 30, 2022 Author Posted June 30, 2022 The MB58R 102 ENERGY 2x10 cab weighs 9.8kg! I'm having one of these, or maybe two. 1 Quote
