Clarky
Apologies if anyone came expecting to see us. We walked after the pub thought we "looked too loud" (we are a blues rock band FFS and were booked by a local rock radio station) and asked us either to lose a band member or to play after 10pm when their restaurant had closed. We didn't even plug in or play a single note. The sound man said our lead guitarists' Marshall valve amp looked especially loud and could he DI instead? WTAF ‘Looked too loud’ is a new one, glad you had the balls to walk. Some flipping idiots running venues these days 😟 Please play Kent soon 👍
Happy Jack
In all fairness, Clarky, a Marshall amp is a really vicious, aggressive piece of kit. Now if Wily had taken one of those cute, cuddly little Matamps he'd have been welcomed with open arms. 😂
Clarky
The soundman asked if I could take my cab away and they just DI from my Ashdown amp. Seemed unaware that you can blow the transformer on an amp (not all, granted) if there is no load attached. There again he was also blissfully unaware of the role of the Master Volume knob. Hey ho
Beedster
On reflection looking like you’ll be loud should be taken as a positive Clarky, better than looking like you’ll be crap 🤔
