That version of Solid Air was the reason I started playing double bass. Its the perfect blend of supportive playing with lots of space plus a beautifully lyrical solo.

Danny’s tone is just amazing, certainly one of the reasons I’m hugely attracted to the DB. My first exposure to Danny was on David Sylvian’s Ink in the Well. I didn’t know who DT was (I’d only recently stared playing bass), but that sound!

Ink in the Well was my first exposure to DB too, always loved DT's sinuous growly bass line(s) on that song. Orpheus on a later DS album Secrets of the Beehive is also wonderful
