ukulelelab Posted July 15, 2022 Posted July 15, 2022 passed away today at 58, way too soon and only few hours before a gig. First album (Squirrel and G-Man Twenty Four Hour Party People Plastic Face Carnt Smile (White Out)) is one of my favourite albums. Production by John Cale is raw and perfect. Still sounds fresh today and Paul's bass is pretty much backbone of it: 3 10 Quote
nick Posted July 16, 2022 Posted July 16, 2022 Paul was a lovely, humble guy... Gutted to hear about his passing yesterday. Played some Mondays tunes last night & got his old Ibanez out. RIP mate 4 Quote
Burns-bass Posted July 16, 2022 Posted July 16, 2022 Meant to be seeing the Mondays later this year. Must say, always assumed it would be Shaun. Great band, shame: 2 Quote
Grassie Posted July 17, 2022 Posted July 17, 2022 Saw them at the Isle of Wight fest last month, was really surprised at how great they were live. Paul played some really great grooves. RIP. 2 Quote
miles'tone Posted July 17, 2022 Posted July 17, 2022 I was gutted to hear the news...Paul and Mani were my inspiration for picking up the bass in the first place. RIP 🙏 2 Quote
mike f Posted July 19, 2022 Posted July 19, 2022 RIP. A true talent. I can still remember listening to Squirrel and G-Man for the first time and his line in Tart Tart stopping me in my tracks. Out there, funky, the real deal. 1 Quote
