spencer.b
Had enough of lugging my ceramics around , ideally single cab , currently using a pair of berg hd112 , love the sound and I'll keep em but want something lighter as well Edited July 19, 2022 by spencer.b
Bill Fitzmaurice
Neo cabs aren't necessarily lighter. For instance, one of the most common tens is the Eminence Beta 10. It weighs 3.1 kg. The neo Deltalite II 2510 weighs 2.1 kg. In a 410 the driver weight difference is only 4 kg. Neos are quite a bit lighter when you're talking about premium drivers, but most bass cabs don't use premium drivers. It's a different story with the cab material. A 120 mm x 240mm sheet of 18mm Italian Poplar weighs 21 kg, the same size of MDF in 15mm thickness weighs twice that. You have to look at the weight of the finished cab, not just the driver magnet material. Edited July 18, 2022 by Bill Fitzmaurice
warwickhunt
Hartke Hydrive 15" cab = 51.6lb - Neo TKS 115H cab = 30.8lb - Ceramic Just to illustrate @Bill Fitzmaurice point; I have both of these cabs and I can assure you the weight difference is appreciable yet the lightest cab is NOT neo! fretmeister
I love my Barefaced Super Twin. 18kg, wheels, 1200W handling, 4ohms. It’s ace.

Or 17kg with cloth grille rather than metal. I looked at a few one-cab solutions and the Super Twin came out on top.

Hmmm I had a retro 210 and found it a bit indistinct , lacking punch , I'll check out the super twin though, voiced quite differently to the retro range? Yes, the 10" range are warmer/softer sounding, whereas the 12" range are much cleaner/flatter sounding.

They're saying that they will hit the dealers worldwide in September. I'm going to wait, but I won't be holding my breath in the meantime.

They are very different. I have a One10 as well (and used to gig a pair of them). The One series are more trad / vintage sounding than the 12XN range. The 12XN stuff is more mid pushed / punchy, but not nasal like some can get.

Fortunately, Promenade Music stock a lot of their stuff and it's 15 minutes walk from me, so I'll be there as soon as they have them in regardless.
