Thunderpaws
Here’s a photo of the bass used in Bon Jovi, Runaway. From 1984 but what’s the bass guitar that Alec Such is using? Just noticed it whilst watching with my son this morning.

Cosmo Valdemar
Hard to tell but could be a Hamer. Symmetrical body.

Doctor J
Actually, it might be a S.D. Curlee, it looks like it has a large backplate down the middle of the body and two P pickups.

Geddys nose
That Tim Pierce solo is one of my favorites, great tune.

Phenomenal and unconventional woodwork on these basses. The neck extends into the body pretty much to the bridge- hence the enormous brass plate. BigRedX
Never seen an SD Curlee in a painted finish before.

Hamers were very popular with the US rock fraternity during the 80s, so possibly a Hamer Slammer. Edited August 10, 2022 by Grassie

This construction is called neck-through-bridge. Rare, I think S. D. Curlee was the inventor.

But yes, no doubt whatsoever that this is the bass in that video, well not this exact unit, but an identical one, exact same model, just in white finish, symmetrical, sort of Gibson Les Paul Junior guitar like body, but with somewhat rounder and slimmer shaped horns compared to a Les Paul Junior guitar, reverse neck P and regular orientation bridge P pickups, 4 pots/control knobs, chunky gold bridge, and though it is hard to see for sure the headstock seems to match too, at very least a 2+2 construction, just like this one. Spot on! Can't possibly be any other bass model. Edited August 11, 2022 by Baloney Balderdash
