oldslapper
But says 1962, so I’m a bit suspicious now. Edited August 15, 2022 by oldslapper
PaulThePlug
Time travel bass... If it was pre CBS... how would it know that CBS would be tacking over... See, I'm clever! Front Decal may be OK, but he didn't think it thru... And the strings are missing...

alyctes
What does the gold lettering say? Something 'professional', I think?

Jean-Luc Pickguard
I'm surprised no one has mentioned the fabled emperor's new strings. They look fabulous with the pure gold windings and peacock coloured silks don't you think? 1

MungoBass
Surprised there is no mention of a special factory order - the unique dymo and of course the luthier created headstock modification to completely negate neck dive!

It's something "INTERNATIONAL" but i can't figure it out. it doesn't look like Peavey. Of the three letters you can see the first one looks like a "K" or "V" then maybe I then J.

The headstock shape looks unaltered, so I'm guessing one of the many unsuccessful not-quite-a-Fender-of-course-it's-not-a-copy manufacturers. Never seen a headstock so II wouldn’t say this is one
Steve Browning
Could be VD, in which case it's probably a load of old clap.
tauzero
I think the strokes converge too high up for a V. I wondered if it could be KO, which might make it KO, or maybe KD. I also wondered about EKO but haven't seen an Eko logo like that, and I don't think there's room for another letter before the (probable) K. prowla
It's definitely a much sought-after blue label FENDER PRECISION BASS
