For sale my 1978 Gibson G3 Grabber in rare tobacco sunburst finish

1025 Gibson G3 were produced in 1978 , only 70 in sunburst ! 

It‘s a clean bass : neck, truss , frets, tuners and electronics are in very good shape.

Pickups are strong , it plays really well with a set of 45-105 flats or rounds.

One ding  on the back of the neck around the 8th fret towards the G string, which you won‘t feel with the thumb of

your left hand when playing .

Weight is 4,3 kg 

Maple body and neck 

Comes with chrome bridge cover and worn original case , but all the latches work as they should

I don’t recall seeing anything other than a natural finish on these basses. Very nice!

Most G3 were indeed natural 

ones with alder bodies ,some were black/ alder

Only a few were sunburst with maple bodies. 
This one is rather exceptional because most G3 with maple bodies were beyond 5 kg !

A stonking bass.. I sold mine recently 🙄

Of all my basses, it was the G3 that my band mates commented on most... In the rehearsal space it was the one bass that (i'm gonna say it) cut through the mix best.

I think you mean a "ding" on the back of the neck. A "dong" is something else entirely 😂
