kevham
Used my Aerodyne Jazz on a gig at the weekend and I noticed my D and G strings were very quiet so I decided to take a look at wiring. Found a loose wire and that the P pickup has been replaced at some point with a Wizard 'Thumper'. Anybody ever heard of these?
Steve Browning
Yes indeed. A lot of love on here for those. The guy behind them retired but they are now manufactured down near me by Eternal Guitars. They are a hotter version of a vintage Precision pickup.
kevham
The jazz pickup has also been replaced with a Wizard '84'.
Lozz196
You’ve had some good fortune there, the stock Aerodyne pickups were ok but Wizards are in a much different league.
Supernaut
Bit crap that someone sold you a bass without informing you that it was modded. Was it a seller on here?

Maybe they weren't aware that it was upgraded. Si
Supernaut
Still - someone at some point modded it and never informed the next owner.

Was it a seller on here? Almost certainly unaware. This bass is nearly 20 years old - probably been through many owners and mods get lost in the mists of time. Baloney Balderdash
Yes, these pickups were original made by a guy named Bumbledork, however he died in bar brawl fighting an evil evil man named Waldomard, that started because Waldomard tried to kill Bumbledork's apprentice Perry Nutter, after having spiked his drink with LSD, who now makes the pickups.
