Yeah, I do that trick of tossing my gear around my head. Goes down a treat, along with the head-banging. I'm weak on pirouettes, though, so I'll practise them more. B|

I'm pretty sure I'd forget to lock the wheels on those trolleys and go a**e ove t*t

I once, in what I thought was a very ‘rock and roll’ pose, put my foot on a monitor which started sliding across the stage. I didn’t fall over but it was nevertheless a very embarrassing moment.

In the clips where the guitar goes flying off out of shot, there are priceless moments where the spinners stop and look in disbelief. I think this is the crucial learning point from this instructional video - you must perfect that look of incredulity that it hasn't worked quite like you thought it would. 🤣

That spin malarkey comes a very very close second to bass solos in my book (well, more like a pamphlet really).

I’m presuming you mean second in a list of No-No’s rather than great things!

What be the remainder of the top 5 (or 10) then?

Oh yes indeed.

Obv the list is verrrrry subjective.

Under the chin basses are in it though.

On bass, for me, other than the 'slinging one's 'ook' as in the video, and bass solos, I'd add...

Pedal boards (or pedals at all, really...).

Use of a pick.

Round-wound strings.

'Softly, softly' is more my style (it might get loud, but softly...). B|

This is impressive.

Maybe not something to try at your local pub gig though.

Anyone know the actual music he's playing? And why that er, interesting overdub music was used?

The one that got me genuinely LOLing was the one where the bass disappears to the left, and when the camera pans over to show him retrieving it, he's emerging from a swimming pool.

I am quite surprised that so many haven't discovered the wonder of straplocks.

Stagecraft, you say....

Brilliant. That bassist must be roasting in that cossie. Like all good parodies, the playing is spot on. Great stuff.
