Ibanez Blazer made in Japan bass in beautiful red. Mahogany with maple neck. Fantastic sustain and huge tone recent luthier set up.

Lovely original condition with a couple of dinks from being put onto a stand, but nothing that affects use or play.

Rare to see original brass knobs.

Based Ivybridge Devon for pick up and test drive, or give me a shout if you want to get courier pick up.

Ohmygod an affordable Blazer in decent condition, who knew such things still existed?!

Listen to all of this but especially the pick / steel rounds at 2'15" (and especially you @Jonesy)

The pickup is the Ibanez copy of the Dimarzio Model P. I literally specced my P to be a homage to this bass.

I had one way back but think it has Roadster on the headstock. Anyone know what the difference was, sure looked the same. It was quite lightweight but had a great sound. When I stripped the paint off to turn it into a natural finish it turned out to be a laminated body.

There a great P. Bass substitute.

There were a few Ibanez models in the late 70’s and 80’s which shared parts and were highly thought of.  Guessing the timbers and quality would have defined the range.  There was a Roadster, a Roadstar and the Blazer. I’m sure people know a lot more about the range,  but I believe the Blazer sat on the top and I bought this one as I love the red & Maple, brass fittings, unusual heart shaped tuners and it has a lovely deep smooth tone.

Big interest here, but geographically and fiscally challenged.

Here's Mick Quinn from Supergrass playing his Blazer at the Taylor Hawkins gig the other day. What a bass.
