bubinga5
Its my bday so im up later than usual. Just wanted to post some great clips you may or may not appreciate..These for me, although not all bass related, are just the best music ive ever heard! The first is a gospel outfit called New Direction..Just amazing!! I cant imagine what its like to play bass in this band... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jA2lwHQXYKo Steely Dan..Donald and Walter live recently..I love this so much.I could watch this all day long..The horns are so Incognito!!!.Just fantastic muscians doing there stuff..Cant work out what jazz hes playing though? Mike Lull??? I would kill to be in this band..The lyrics are great "clean this mess up else well all end up in jail, those test tubes and scales, get it out of here well all end up in jail.theres gas in the car...theres some desparation in his voice to get out of there, that tells the story so well... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ylr2D4Pwn58 I have nothing to say about this apart from his Clav playing..his high note placement with the lower chordal stuff always gets me.. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wDZFf0pm0SE Stevie on a drum solo....You got to see this!!!!This just says everything thing about Stevie Wonder, he is pure music.....Just incredible!!! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iBA4vWQRBA0 Marus miller with Herbie Hancock, Poogie Baell, Wayne Shorter..Its Marcus's show but what a band!!!and what intro playing by the man...Marcus for me is the best technical player out there who has also got soul, and plays from it// http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cHf7DvVpeiU Edited April 18, 2009 by bubinga5

Stingray5
Some excellent clips there. It led me to spend the last hour following a 'video trail' through the likes of Incognito, Earth Wind & Fire, Steely Dan, Marcus Miller etc, and ending up with Jaco having a bit of fun. Apologies if you've seen this before - happy birthday, dude... Pete Academy
The bass player is Tom Barney, and I think that's an ESP bass. Awesome tune! Try to see our Steely Dan tribute, Nearly Dan. We gig all over the UK. See www.nearlydan.co.uk for gig dates.
