I agree, so I've decided to contribute as well.

This is my Lakland USA 44-51 which I first purchased from a fellow BassChatter a few years ago, I stupidly sold it on in 2023, but I missed it so much that I tracked it down and re-purchased it in June of this year.

The beautiful birdseye maple neck on this bass has a 38mm nut, and for me, it's an absolute dream to play, I've owned around thirty P basses over the years, but this is by far the best of the lot.

As well as a couple of photos, I've also uploaded a sound demo (please excuse my playing). 😉

How has it been over a year someone has posted here? Since I bought the JO4, I've added a JO5 and a Skyline 55-02. Absolutely amazed by the quality of these basses.

My current three, I added a 55-02 a couple of months ago, but it’s transient I think…..my thinking as of today is that I’ll probably move it on at some point to fund a 55-Dual J Classic. But the 44-PJ is the truth, and the 55-01 with upgraded US Bartolini pups/pre is great too:

I just got this DJ4, I've owned various Jazz Basses and this is up there with the best of them:

Bonus that it's more sparkly than I thought it would be:

Fwoarrr! Look at the join on that!

Perhaps I've been unlucky, but I've never owned a Fender Jazz with all the parts fitting quite so exactly, there always seems to be a bit of 'near enough, that'll do' bodge. This Lakland seems precise: Pickup holes, pickguard exactly meeting the neck and control plate, neck pocket, nut, frets, etc. Everything seems precise, one bit individually doesn't make much difference but marginal gains add up.

This! That for me is what sets Lakland apart from the equivalent Fender models.
