Hi all!

Somehow I've ended up with these. Can't quite remember how it happened, but there you go.

First up - American Original 60s Precision:

Snap! Well, half snap anyway.

I just picked up a 50's P Bass in a trade for a Sax I wasn't using. Its absolutely mint and still had the plastic over the tuning pegs.  I've just set it up and restrung it and love it. I prefer it to the 60's AO I had for a while.

Nice 👌,   I looked at a 60s one recently,  is there much of a difference in sound between the two

Too early to tell... it's going to be an interesting comparison though!

How many Precisions do you have now, WoT? Not tempted to go back to a Jazz as an alternative (I remember you had a beautiful early 70s 3TSB/rosewood/blocks some years ago)?

PS,both are beauties

I've got 3 P's and a Maruszczyk P now. TBH I didn't intend to buy a couple of new P's (I'm still holding out for something early 70's), but I liked the look of 'em.

I know, I know...

How is the 60s one shaping up Wot

It's nice - lovely fit, finish and tone, but I can't get into the neck. It's just too shallow!

One day I'll remember that I just don't do 60s necks.

I'm persevering, though...

That’s interesting, some of the descriptions I read say they are thick C shaped which is is why I never followed up on them, I’ll have another look at those

I believe it's thicker than the '62 RI, but still not thick enough for me. The 9.5" neck radius is probably making it feel even shallower....

I’m with you, gimme a ‘B’ neck any day of the week.

I've heard it's seven years bad luck to have two 'clashing' P-Bass guitars in one place. A bit like crossing the beams in Bassbusters.......only cure is to send one up to Scotland for 'cleansing' then switch them over.....honest....😇
