wateroftyne Posted September 4, 2022 Author Posted September 4, 2022 ...so far, I prefer the neck of the 50s. As for the rest... time will tell. Quote
Daz39 Posted September 4, 2022 Posted September 4, 2022 You can really go off people you know: showoff!! They do look very nice, the colour combo on the 50s one is amazeballs. 1 Quote
Reggaebass Posted September 4, 2022 Posted September 4, 2022 Nice 👌, I looked at a 60s one recently, is there much of a difference in sound between the two Quote
Lozz196 Posted September 4, 2022 Posted September 4, 2022 2 really nice looking basses there, really sing out the decades they represent. Quote
Old Horse Murphy Posted September 4, 2022 Posted September 4, 2022 Snap! Well, half snap anyway. I just picked up a 50's P Bass in a trade for a Sax I wasn't using. Its absolutely mint and still had the plastic over the tuning pegs. I've just set it up and restrung it and love it. I prefer it to the 60's AO I had for a while. 4 Quote

Clarky Posted September 4, 2022 Posted September 4, 2022 (edited) How many Precisions do you have now, WoT? Not tempted to go back to a Jazz as an alternative (I remember you had a beautiful early 70s 3TSB/rosewood/blocks some years ago)? PS,both are beauties Edited September 4, 2022 by Clarky Quote

TBH I didn't intend to buy a couple of new P's (I'm still holding out for something early 70's), but I liked the look of 'em. I know, I know... 3 Quote

It's just too shallow! One day I'll remember that I just don't do 60s necks. I'm persevering, though... Edited September 8, 2022 by wateroftyne 1 Quote

That’s interesting, some of the descriptions I read say they are thick C shaped which is is why I never followed up on them, I’ll have another look at those Quote

The 9.5" neck radius is probably making it feel even shallower.... 1 Quote
MungoBass Posted October 11, 2022 Posted October 11, 2022 A pair of beauties right there. I love my AVRI 58 P and AO 60s Jazz.... Quote

merello Posted October 11, 2022 Posted October 11, 2022 I've heard it's seven years bad luck to have two 'clashing' P-Bass guitars in one place. A bit like crossing the beams in Bassbusters.......only cure is to send one up to Scotland for 'cleansing' then switch them over.....honest....😇 Quote
