ebenezer
Anyone able to do this and get the correct finish.... just a thought?
Hacksawbob
Yes and no, 3d printed items will invariably have lines in them, if you are prepared to put some time in there are ways to reduce this.

Hacksawbob
Here's an example of something else I made, I did some Yamaha jazz pickup covers but the bass is on loan at the mo. From a distance it doesn't look too bad, can even look quite nice if the top layer is 'ironed' but there is no getting away from it being FDM printed without finishing it somehow. If you can find someone who does SLA printing uses light and photo curing resin) they would be closer to an injection moulded finish. I got rid of mine though I hated using it and stick to FDM. mcnach
A while back I wanted a white Stingray pickup cover and could not find one anywhere. I ended up finding a full pickup with white cover for around £10 on Aliexpress. I just took the cover from it. Just an idea.

They seem to come and go. They'll probably appear again soon. There was this other one on ebay that I bookmarked. Twice the price 'though. Out of stock too, but I was watching this one atthe time and again it'd come back frequently. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/141332233688?var=440457232180 Edited September 10, 2022 by mcnach
