I’m replicating the plastic truss hole trim piece from ebony. I epoxied a block into the body and made a trim piece for the top. I’ll need to try rout a round bottom slot for accessE734A187-D306-4982-819C-03FD4F7A0B32.thumb.jpeg.417afb06e2488801de79c406d8b05cc0.jpeg

Matching headstock finished. I’m reluctant to cut pickup holes until I have them! Still waiting on Bass Culture. 1F11FC04-2DB4-444B-8848-3AB79E26DC70.thumb.jpeg.7ae3d67dfcbf55a0f7515a09f52f532e.jpeg

Absolutely - never...  ;)

Looking splendid.

Does it need pickup holes? You could come from the back like @Andyjr1515did with the Psillyos...

You mean rear mount the pickups? I have done that, but with this build the strings will be too far to work well.

Decent thought, @Si600 but I agree with @Chopthebass.

If you remember, Si, the Psilos fretboard is actually at body level - and so the strings are close to the body top:

That would not be the case in this build where the fretboard sits higher than the body top.

Are you cutting the top, and using the wood to cover pickups, then?

No, I thought about cutting wood covers before glueing the top on, but I’m making ebony covers. Mainly to mimic Wal as close as I can.

If I'm going to be picky, I'd say those aren't the neck inlays I'd have chosen. But hey, that's a bit like complaining that the road in the background of the Mona Lisa is a bit too bendy. It's a beautiful thing of, well, beauty.

I was in two minds whether to go with a dark fingerboard. It was almost going to be ebony with simple dots. But the birdseyes were speaking to me!

Some lacquering! I like to put a couple of coats on maple fingerboards before fretting. I don’t like the Fender method where it’s flooded with lacquer after frets are in! 4EADAA94-EF20-4A06-8488-210A66576508.thumb.jpeg.edc7cd523f8b3db4109d0bb4cb48b381.jpeg2644A585-A28F-4755-9F40-DDF44143A2FF.thumb.jpeg.1a7ff19e45630e4c76d9952e5e1e68f4.jpeg7DD4A184-CF3A-4441-AE5B-A676FEA630C6.thumb.jpeg.871df17c28252b2741a523c55238ef14.jpeg
