They are if you find it hard to figure out where knobs with minimal markings are turned to!! Lol.

My original plan was to use numbered Luminlay knobs, they make perfect ones for this bass. But since they are out of production, I had to go custom…and @Chopthebassknew a fella…

Is using the rolled up ball of sticks how you get such a lustre?

Still waiting for the pickups! But found time to sand and buff. I’m loving the flame! A5EC03EB-6BB8-412A-A3AF-EC89E0523C2F.thumb.jpeg.45f7074fcdfa82d1991615ce681ce1a9.jpegA5DEF53D-DED2-42ED-B455-64A7BC675635.thumb.jpeg.e0cb657a07d3796f7ae7e58bb2e82113.jpeg

Beautiful!

I'm not normally one for natural finishes. But that is beautiful!

My plan at the start was to make it blue, but the maple had quite a dark red/brown hue, and a test piece didn’t take stain the way I wanted.

Don't forget to copper shield the pickups cavities and star ground them too otherwise the shielding is totally useless...

Yup, that’s the plan. I’m still waiting for the pickups and once I know the fit nicely I’ll do the copper. I run a ground from each pickup cavity, and bridge, and then ground everything to cavity shielding. It’s the only way to do it effectively.

Please fix the broken links to your pics, it's driving me nuts not being able to see them!

I ran out of allowable upload data, so had to delete some attachments! Can you see any?

As Andy said, top class job and great attention to detail.

PS. Interested to see where the ash(?) backed body in one of your pics is going. Is it another build going on at the same time? (Sorry if I've missed where you've mentioned that one at some point.)
