Bridgehouse Posted October 4, 2022 Posted October 4, 2022 And the other comment I get is that the light bits on the top look like scratches or marks and look ugly - it’s actually figuring in the African Blackwood and completely natural! 1 Quote
Woodinblack Posted October 5, 2022 Posted October 5, 2022 I think the light marks make it. There is a very similar uberhorn that doesn't have the marks, I prefer the one with, it adds a highlight. The uberhorns are supremely comfortable and mine is so light. Only downside is they wouldn't be so good for someone who wanted to use a plectrum at the time. Quote
Tim2291 Posted October 5, 2022 Posted October 5, 2022 This one will definitely be ugly to a lot of people... Personally I think it's ugly, absolutely ridiculous and I've never wanted a guitar more in my life 🤣 7 1 Quote

Some people seem to think it's the most incredibly beautiful bass they have ever seen, and yet others say it's truly hideous and an affront to their senses. Certainly seems some think it's ugly but others not at all... Expand I definitely would NOT have put that in my video ....looks great to me Quote

BigRedX Posted October 5, 2022 Posted October 5, 2022 I love all of Jens Ritters designs except for the very slightly angled pickups which always look wrong to me. Since they are under covers, surely it would be no big deal to make the covers slightly bigger so they could be straightened up (but still have angled pickups hidden underneath). Although does that very slight angle actually make any difference to the sound? Quote

Expand Agreed, they look a bit odd like that (even more so on that one where you see how they are out). My shuker has slightly angled pickups, but as they are black on black and only jazz size, they don't really notice but as his are big, they do. Quote

I'm in the camp that would prefer a plain black fretboard but overall, it is just stunning. meterman Posted October 5, 2022 Posted October 5, 2022 This popped up in my instagram feed, would it count? Personally I wouldn’t touch it with a stolen Richard but I’ve never been a fan of 1950’s kitchen cupboard formica. 1 1 Quote
