sprocketflup
I've got silk over the nut on one of my basses, causes no issues whatsoever

If it bothers you either get a razor blade and slice them off or extend the strings away from the bridge plate so the silks don't go over the saddle.

JPJ
Just a thought but that E saddle looks a long way back for a BBOT bridge. Have you checked the intonation? 2

PaulThePlug
Cut the silks back on the E and A... Clip on tuner makes it's mind up quicker and the E rings a bit clearer unpluged... Unfortunatly the A is a little messy and sharp edged where the silk was but no biggy... Intonation was there or there abouts, G needed moving back a touch... Bit of variation between the Ibanez PU3 clip on and the Zoom B1on tuner... with the blend centered. Thanks all...
