LukeFRC Posted September 22, 2022 Posted September 22, 2022 Anyone seen these yet? in a world of fender shaped objects I love that body shape! https://www.instagram.com/pheral_ai/?igshid=YmMyMTA2M2Y%3D 10 1 Quote
Woodinblack Posted September 22, 2022 Posted September 22, 2022 Very much not for me, but it is always nice to see people trying to do non FSOs! 1 Quote
Marty Forrer Posted September 22, 2022 Posted September 22, 2022 After decades of playing basses of every shape I have come to the conclusion the Fender Jazz shape is absolutely the best for me. It snuggles into my body like a comfy old slipper. No matter how far I stray away I inevitably come back to the Jazz body shape. 2 Quote
uk_lefty Posted September 23, 2022 Posted September 23, 2022 That looks great. I generally like the look of their basses but this has the retro futuristic style I love. 1 Quote
uk_lefty Posted September 23, 2022 Posted September 23, 2022 Oh great. Mortgage has sky rocketed, energy bills through the roof... And I've just read that these guys are based in North Yorkshire, where I was born and raised ... And they don't discriminate against left handers. Bad case of GAS setting in. 1 Quote
LukeFRC Posted September 23, 2022 Author Posted September 23, 2022 Ild like to see it being played and see what it looks like then - I like it cos it’s different and a nice visually balanced design 1 Quote

I do like thaqt design - different, but still classy - (like the Nordstrand Acinonyx). Nice finishes and look too. Hmm.... 2 Quote

Sibob Posted September 23, 2022 Posted September 23, 2022 Wonder what the price point will be. Wish they were shortscale though. Si Quote

Sure, but seems like they're batch built, so I guess it would depend what the demand/sell-through was like on them. We shall see. Si Quote

msb Posted September 23, 2022 Posted September 23, 2022 It does have that retro futurism happening. The future ain’t what it used to be. 1 Quote
CameronJ Posted September 23, 2022 Posted September 23, 2022 So I've been chatting to Chris at Alpher (Pheral!) asking some questions about these new beasts. Here's what I've learned: - The price will be £1495, which includes the lovely metallic finishes shown in their instagram post. Natural oil finish is also available for the same price if preferred. This is a lower price point than the rest of the Alpher line with fewer options available as a result. - There are three pickup types to choose from, all made by TV Jones. The "Thunder Tron", "Thunder Mag" and "Thunder Blade" - The Mag is a P-style pup whereas the Tron and Blade are humbuckers. The differences between them can be seen & heard at https://tvjones.com/bass-pickups . I'm loving the sound samples! - Wiring layout for basses with with either the "Tron" or "Blade" installed will be Volume, Tone and a coil tap switch. On basses loaded with the "Mag" it'll be Volume, Tone and a kill switch. 1 Quote
