ebenezer
Well, i really dropped the ball here!!......bought said guitar and it seems the trussrod is really stiff......these are great basses, but finding a decent replacement neck will be nigh on impossible and being a bass worth £200-300 at most, does anyone have any pearls of wisdom they would like to impart ....Thanks folks. neepheid
Depends on the type of nut on the end of the truss rod - if it's removable you could take the nut off, thread on a few washers then tighten up again to give you some more threads to work with. ebenezer
Cheers, will have a look at that.... it's a musicman style wheel affair so possibly could be welded.
Machines
Had similar with an ATK200, but the max adjustment was just right for the strings I had. Changing your string gauges/tension is probably the only way around it, otherwise yeah... 🔥
LeftyJ
18 hours ago, ebenezer said: trussrod well and truly maxed out, frets choking at the top end I'm not sure I get this. Is the neck too concave or too convex? And does the bass have a two-way truss rod, or is it single-action?
ebenezer
Neck update!..... well, with a bit of persuasion and two more turn's of the trussrod along with a fret dress and bass is playing well !.... originally thought the neck was toast,... just shows you what can be rescued 👍
