Quirky Precision/Thunderbird/EBO Conversion

Saw this and thought it was pretty novel. Looks like the sort of thing John Entwistle would have been playing back in the early days of The Who.

 

Really not sure about the price though ....

Looks like somebody used up all the bits in their parts box

Lesson 1 . If you add up the cost of all the parts you used to make a Bass that does not necessarily equate to the selling price.

 

It's a bit like buying a Rolls Royce to which you've added a wide body lowering kit and awful wheels.....

I particularly liked; "The original 1965 Vintage Gibson Nickel EB-0 pickup is from a bass serial number 340051. The pickup eventually died and had to be re-wired and now sounds even better than originally!"

 

So we have an original EB-0 pup (with the actual bass' serial number)... but it is rewound... and not even to the same spec!

I should add that he didn't copy Pino... he copied my bass (well maybe).

Lesson 2. If you're going to give a link to a video to try to justify what you've done, make sure the video isn't private. I can't remember any pictures of Pino with a reverse-headstock bass, as it happens.

Why didn't the seller experiment with something cheap and nasty rather than a rather expensive American Vintage Precision. Even if it sounds and plays great they won't get anything near to the selling price they're asking.

 

I notice the seller has fiddled with a perfectly nice US Jazz as well. They have a very expensive hobby.
