Nail Soup Posted October 4, 2022 Posted October 4, 2022 Someone suggested this as the worst ever cover in one of my FB feeds... what do you nominate as the worst cover? (Sorry if it's been done before) I'm really thinking of ones that deliberately sound the way they do.... not ones done by people who can't play/sing. Going Underground (The Jam) covered by Manfred Mann's Earth Band. Quote
Leonard Smalls Posted October 4, 2022 Posted October 4, 2022 Actually, this may be better than the original 😁 1 2 Quote
Dad3353 Posted October 4, 2022 Posted October 4, 2022 I know it's only a 'regional accent', but I can never get used to the transatlantic pronunciations of many words. Singing 'Smoke on the Waaarder' grates on my cloth ears, despite the innovative 'laid back' treatment, which is otherwise fine enough. S'not just this fellow, of course; how many TV series are made painful for me by so such talk as 'Oh, my guard..! It came as such a shark to my darder'. OK, it's just me; I'll shut up now. 2 1 Quote

PaulWarning Posted October 4, 2022 Posted October 4, 2022 only a matter of time before Capt Kirk made an appearance, he may not be a competent musician, but the band and producers were, so I thought I'd get in first 2 Quote

'Ears-R-Us' should set up a merchandise store in that YouTube thread...Judging by the over positive comments, they would make an absolute fortune. 1 Quote

davepb24 Posted October 4, 2022 Posted October 4, 2022 A mate keeps going on about how great Behemoth's cover of the Cure's "A Forest" is ... up there with the worst I've come across I'm afraid Quote

I've always liked it on Under Great White Northern Lights (live album), I'd say that version is better than the YouTube one, but it's basically the same thing. Quote

Got to agree with all the other noms apart from Bill Shatner's Rocket Man and Len Nimoy's I Walk The Line. That's entertainment, mr Weller 😁 Quote
