PaulThePlug
Warm with a hairdryer to soften glue residue.... idealy should be done before removing tape. WD40... Isopropyl Alcohol or Lighter Fluid... check on an out of the way spot first. Edited October 5, 2022 by PaulThePlug

PaulThePlug
Try warming first to see if you can roll up any stick left in to a bogie... Otherwise it will just get spread when the wd or iso gets to it. Edited October 5, 2022 by PaulThePlug
tauzero
White spirit is another one to try, and meths (remember - white spirit with chicken, meths with red meat). Do not use acetone. It's rather too good a solvent.
Reggaebass
Have you tried alcohol wipes, I don’t think they will damage the case
ezbass
Try some sunflower oil on a piece of kitchen towel (or another light cooking oil). Sounds ridiculous, but it really works, as does tahini or smooth peanut butter, but they both leave an odour. I mentioned this fix to a friend of mine, who is a chemistry teacher and he was unsurprised and said that oils are known for their ability to break stuff down.

Grahambythesea
De Solv-it Sticky Stuff Remover - yes it is called that. Available at Wilko, Amazon, and lots of other places.
Jean-Luc Pickguard
I used to use sticky stuff remover, but I found that lighter fluid from poundland is just as good, only lacking the orange aroma
Ed_S
I’ve found the cleanest way to remove tape residue can sometimes just be to use more tape. Put some new tape that isn’t going to fall apart over the residue, then peel it off and it often takes the old stuff with it. Repeat as necessary with a fresh section. 2
