richardd Posted October 5, 2022 Posted October 5, 2022 Hi All. I have a Barefaced 4x10 @8ohms and would like to add a 2x10 ,but cannot afford a new BF,Has anyone added another branded cab to a BF,and the results please, cannot source a used BF 2x10S ,so maybe thinking of a Vanderkley mint 2x10.Cheers Rich Quote
BassmanPaul Posted October 5, 2022 Posted October 5, 2022 To work properly with an 8Ω 4x10 the 2x10 would need to be 16Ω for equal power sharing. That gives you a load of 5.3Ω. Both cabs would also need to work with the same polarity otherwise they will fight each other all night long. That said they still might not suit each other tonally. Quote
Downunderwonder Posted October 5, 2022 Posted October 5, 2022 If it's not loud enough for you to hear yourself properly you should try raising it up before doing anything else. 2 Quote
Dan Dare Posted October 5, 2022 Posted October 5, 2022 A BF 4x10 is capable of being pretty loud. Are you playing stadiums? I'd be looking at driving it harder (BF cabs will take some serious power), rather than adding a 2x10. 2 Quote

At the very least it should be tilted back so that you can hear the mids. Quote A BF 4x10 is capable of being pretty loud. Yep. Even if one added a BF 2x10 loaded with the same drivers the increase in maximum output would be only 3dB, which isn't worth the bother of hauling the second cab. 1 Quote
fretmeister Posted October 5, 2022 Posted October 5, 2022 That cab is capable of silly volumes. What amp is being used with it? Quote
