So I just bought a bass that Basschat (and I) appear to not like.....

I've been playing DB exclusively for the last year, and haven't had an electric since Feb this year. But my old band is reforming for a couple of gigs and I need an electric for that, ans wanting to record some EB also thought it about time that I got an electric again. So, I've been looking for about 6-weeks and have seen a few that i like, and had a few conversations with sellers, but nothing was really sealing the deal.

Until yesterday, when a bass popped up that I knew the moment I saw it was the bass for me. So I did some research, and Google led me to Basschat where...

1. There was a 5-page thread describing what a terrible bass it is and

2. I had on more than one occasion been rather critical of the manufacturer

I've just got the feeling it's going to be awesome. I'll update once I know :)

oh is it that one with the confederate flag on it?

Ha ha, no not even sure I've seen that. It's very consistent with my previous bass history just an interesting detour that, when I checked, didn't appear to have gained approval :(

I’m not guessing, could be anything as I’m fairly sure there isn’t a bass out there that doesn’t have haters on BC. However, why is it always the way that once you digest yourself of a particular type of instrument completely, that a band comes along that requires exactly that type of instrument? When I first quit guitar to play bass pretty much exclusively (I still has an acoustic guitar) a band came along that required a guitarist and they asked me. Just like that, I was pulled back into the skinny string vortex. Did the band last long? No, of course it didn’t, but it was too late by then and it would be another 10 years before I returned to the path of righteousness.

I think there's a degree of the subconscious will involved also :)
