This is the Hipshot replacement Bridge (3 point) for Gibson Basses. They are extremely easy to fit and improve the tonal characteristics of the Bass.

 

This design also makes string changes much easier that the stock Gibson Bridge.

Can I just check, you say 3 point replacement bridge, but pic is of a 2 point (pre 1973 type) bridge. Is the pic the actual bridge?

There is a great clip on YouTube where a guy has replaced the 3 point bridge on a Gibson Thunderbird. It explains why you would think this is a two point.

Please also ref or the the Hipshot web site where it shows the difference in snap between the two point and 3 point versions.

The 2 point works fine on flat bodied instruments using a 3 point bridge. The 3 point version also works on carved tops, like a Jack Cassidy bass.
