vbance Posted November 25, 2023 Posted November 25, 2023 Took a 1999 Fender American Standard Precision as a trade against one of these today. Had 3 to try one being a sunburst, which I would have preferred but would have been happy with a blonde. Surprisingly I returned home with my bass as I was pretty sure I would have pulled the trigger on one of the 54's on offer. I wasn't too impressed with the set up on 2 of them but 1 was bang on for me and also this one also had the best grain showing though. Sadly though I just wasn't feeling any of them. I understand some can't get on with the neck but this was fine for me and I can't put my finger on what it was but we just didn't gel. Have to say the staff at Absolute Music Bournemouth were excellent in every way, also had a tech there to adjust anything if need be. 1 Quote
Lozz196 Posted November 25, 2023 Posted November 25, 2023 Just shows sometimes we already have the instruments that we gel with best already. For me no matter how a bass sounds or looks if I don’t gel with the neck - including the finish on the neck - then it’s game over. 2 Quote
