I'm on tour in Europe and our bassist has broken a string. He has no idea what strings he has. Can someone tell me what strings a 2017 American Pro Fender P is shipped with? If we can get the right gauge it should save us a full setup

Fender 7250m 45-105 so I imagine the middle two are 65 and 85

You’re on tour with a bassist who doesn’t carry a spare set of strings 🤔

And on tour with a bassist who doesn't know what strings he has on the bass...

Kids eh? 😂

I take a spare bass to the Dog & Duck just in case, I'd need my own truck for a European tour :)

I've been giving him plenty of abuse about it. He reckons he's never broken a string before but that's no excuse is it? Anyway, we're on the way to a shop in hamburg now

Give him some abuse from us also mate, he's the sort of guy who gives bass players a bad name, no spare strings is up there with guitarists forgetting a cable, drummer forgetting sticks and singer forgetting songs

Suggest also seeing if the shop has one of those McCartney ‘Bassman’ stickers. If so, stick it on his bass and add a question mark at the end. 😬😬😬

How to ask for bass strings in German:

"I. VONT. SOME. SCHTRINGS. FOR. ZE. BASS."

And if necessary point at the person in the shop, people who don’t speak English always understand much better when you do that…….

If they don't understand the first time, point more aggressively and shout louder and slower.
