TorturedSaints
Hi knowledgeable people, My ACG J-type 5 was originally strung by Skelf with SIT Powerwounds. I really like them and they obviously suit the bass. However, I’m having problems finding them in the UK at the moment. Any suggestions for a similar nickel wrap/steel core string please? Or if anyone knows of any in stock anywhere (I’ve looked at most of the usual suspects). I have had Elixirs in the past on my MIJ Fender Geddy Lee and quite liked them. I haven’t really experimented with strings much, hence my question. Thanks, R
naxos10
It mightbe worth investigating Newtone strings as these have been fitted as standard on many ACG basses. They also offer a variety of string types to choose from including a custom option.
BigRedX
Can you not get SIT strings direct from ACG? I'm sure I've bought sets from them in the past. Otherwise I'd second the Newtone suggestion.

Might be worth speaking to him to see if he is getting something similar from Newtone.

NancyJohnson
I liked SlTs...bought them in the US. They felt nicely rough/gritty. Closest from a feel perspective is the Markbass LongEvo. Very similar in feel, and as they're coated, they last for ages.
