kingforaday
Has anyone seen these before, or come across the logo anywhere? Unsurprisingly a Google search of ‘Bass Head’ doesn’t come up with anything useful! I originally thought these were PA bass bins or something but went to pick them up, local to me, and they’re 10” speakers, one cab has feet the other had castors (suggesting they were stacked) they’re plywood constructed, very well made and the inside is lined with foam/wadding. Eminence beta 10a speakers, neutrik speakon sockets… I haven’t checked what the horns are. I guess it could be a well made DIY thing but I thought I’d ask in case anyone knew. They could obviously be more PA/DJ related but the fact I picked them up with a bass combo and a random Trace Elliot foot switch made me think bass Edited November 4, 2022 by kingforaday

Downunderwonder
Definitely BFM Omni. They could well have been professionally built. Check out the crossover. They are mid heavy in the native response. The badge appears to have come off something Trace Elliot.
kingforaday
That was quick! Cheers guys, do you know what I’m pretty sure I disappeared down that rabbit hole a few years back, reading people’s build diaries etc… no idea how I forget about it!? Must have been one of the different designs, but still… you’d think I’d have remembered something. As soon as I saw the name I was like “wait… oooohhhhh yeahhhh!!!” Is that Bass head logo an actual trace thing then?

I looked again and see it's a pair so I'm guessing it's a homage in the style of Trace, rather than salvage.
Woodwind
have you played through them yet? I always liked the look of horn type speakers like this.

Only at low volume individually just to check they were working, but once I find another speaker lead I’ll see how they are as a stack
Mottlefeeder
The Omni 10 was a 2 x 10 design that some builders chopped in half to make 1 x 10s (AKA Omni 10.5). Bill commented at the time that the port tuning was retained, but the modified cab was more likely to chuff due to the reduced port size. The Jack 10 was designed to replace it. With only two tweeters, your version was built for bass use. The PA version used several piezo tweeters, either in a single column, or cut and glued as pairs in a double column.
