Fidelity (Bass) Guitars

Anyone seen or played one of these before? They remind me of Japanese basses from the 60s. And pretty reasonably priced for handbuilt instruments.

They're lovely, quirky looking things but I'm not sure I'd want one as my main instrument and they're not so cheap that I could have one just to have something a bit different in the collection.

The headstock design doesn’t fit with the body shape; I do like the look of them.

 

Wouldn't want to play a bass with a bag over its head.

Love them - the Thundermaker looks uber cool and definitely something that I'd love to hang on the wall and have to hand to play. No idea how robust they'd be in a live situation but I'm guessing pretty well as they have a good solid sound to them.

First time hearing of them, not to my taste visually but the vid above sounds good.

That neck fitting would give me anxiety though, looks like it's barely attached. Making me wonder if it has some kind of custom extra bit slotting further into the body behind the screws.

If you scroll through all the pictures you'll see that it has a suitably large neck plate - the body extends out behind the heel. Besides wood and proper screws are wonderfully strong materials. They make houses out of them. Not every instrument has to be as clunky as a Telecaster or Precession Bass.

Not to my taste. Don't understand the sharp edged routing around the body either. Makes it look like someone forgot the binding. Just my view I don't like sharp edges on a bass.
