Boss ME50 B to GT1 B

HI 

I have a Boss ME50 B  and am thinking about trying a Boss GT1 B   can you use all three buttons to swap through patches  like you can on the ME50 B  as this gives me three sounds per song without having to scroll up or down   ( if this makes sense )

I believe you can if you buy an extra Footswitch. The extra switch then behaves as a patch up and down leaving the 3 on the GT1B to be set as stomps. 
 

if not, the only stomp you have is the 3rd button. Unless you do choose to use all three buttons on a patch, where then you’d have to select new patches using a knob.

This is possible (external FS-7 for patch up and down, 3 buttons to switch things on/off in each patch) - as thats how I run mine, but with some downsides the main one being that the looper function is no longer accessible.
