They didn't, and more specifically, I feel they really pushed them, whatever the question was their answer was varifocals.

At least you know which optician NOT to go to next time.

@Bunion Sorry for the laughing emoji... Varifocals! Tried em for a bit... Not for me. Stairs were a nightnmare (as you found out).. taking a pizz also... keyboard on the desk used to be like being onboard ship... and driving or riding the motorcycle... err nope! Binned(!) em off!

Hope you had a reasonable night.

Hopefully by the time my bike is de-wintered I’ll be used to them or I’ll just get some single prescription glasses

I had that, went to the optician as a non glasses wearer, they pushed the varifocals on me. Picked them up, went outside wearing them, the world looked horrible, I felt sick, walked into a bollard (luckily only slightly), never wore them again!

I had a similar experience with varifocals and like you, never wore them again. Since then I’ve always had bi-vocals and get on with them just fine.

Hope you recovery is speedy. But don't rush things - you don't want to aggravate the injury.

I wouldn't be without my varifocals now but it did take a couple of days to adjust. Great for staring at the audience and then at the fretboard without having to change glasses. 😬

I remove my glasses to read. They spend much of their time perched on top of my head.

:) Exactly the opposite here, Glasses on to read, rest of the time perched on head.

Vari- focals are like looking out of a fishbowl.  I went for Bi-focals, or  Bi-vocals if you're called @Velarian  :)

Sorry V  :)

That's what I do, except I usually spend 30 mins or so scouring the house looking for them when next needed. :D
