ead Posted November 17, 2022 Posted November 17, 2022 A bunch of very tasty preloved ACGs have appeared on Bass Direct. Are they from anyone on here? https://bassdirect.co.uk/bass_guitar_specialists/ACG_Finn_SH.html https://bassdirect.co.uk/bass_guitar_specialists/ACG_J_Type_4.html https://bassdirect.co.uk/bass_guitar_specialists/ACG_Retro_B_Maple.html https://bassdirect.co.uk/bass_guitar_specialists/ACG_ReCurve_4_Fretless.html https://bassdirect.co.uk/bass_guitar_specialists/ACG_Skelf.html Quote
Mrbigstuff Posted November 17, 2022 Posted November 17, 2022 Is it just me that can’t get on with the look of them? 6 Quote
Guest Posted November 17, 2022 Posted November 17, 2022 (edited) What a first reply 🙄 I think I found the original listing on the ACG website for the Retro B - don't think BassDirect have got the electronics quite right in theirs. https://acguitars.co.uk/project/0271-retrob-4/ Listing for what I think is the preamp (edit: see below for correction!) https://www.east-uk.com/product/p-retro/?v=79cba1185463 Edited November 18, 2022 by Ricky Rioli Quote

There was a Recurve listed that's sold now and it was stunning. I was close to seriously battering my credit card! Edited November 18, 2022 by bigthumb Quote
ead Posted November 18, 2022 Author Posted November 18, 2022 Since found out that these belong to a long-standing BCer who has had a serious medical situation. Very sad 6 Quote

One switch is active/passive and the other coil switching for the split coil pick up. So unusual for BD to get the specs wrong Quote
Woodinblack Posted November 18, 2022 Posted November 18, 2022 PM'd you about it. They do all come from one person, but not here. 1 1 Quote

BassApprentice Posted November 18, 2022 Posted November 18, 2022 (edited) Simply an incredible collection to come from the same stable. If I could I would buy them all just to keep them in good hands in case the situation changes. Buy with confidence that these came from a good home and will all be excellent basses. ead Posted November 18, 2022 Author Posted November 18, 2022 (edited) This was from the Facebook public group. He was known as Scoop on here: Today is a sad day. I've kept this mostly to myself and haven't advertised the fact but in June I suffered a significant stroke which affected the left side of my body. I've not recovered as well or as quickly as I'd like and I'm not really able to play at a satisfactory level. In addition, last Friday I accepted a severance package from my employers, a charity. As a charity they weren't able to offer an enhanced deal so the financial package isn't significant. I need money. All bar a very few basses from my collection of 25+, including over 10 ACGs, will be delivered to Bass Direct for commission sale later today. It's heartbreaking but needs must. TheGreek Posted November 19, 2022 Posted November 19, 2022 I feel for the seller. Hope he gets a fair price for them all. 2 Quote
