Sibob
Apart from the obvious changes of the bridge, scratchplate and abominable tuners, what's the rest looking like to people? https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/325410992171?mkevt=1&mkcid=1&mkrid=710-53481-19255-0&campid=5338365712&toolid=20006&customid=EB80781363& Si
jay bass
Not convinced its genuine would like to see a date stamp on the neck and body does the serial number match up on the fender serial check site https://serialnumberlookup.fender.com/lookup/
lowregisterhead
As all the hardware and electronics seem to have been changed, it looks like all that's 'original' is the neck and the body. The front of the headstock is an odd shade, which could mean it's been stripped to change the decal. thodrik
It would be a pass for me. You could get a late 1970s one for about the same price in much better condition. It might sound great, it might be great to play or an absolute dog. Just on looks it would be a no from me though. The pristine whiteness of the pickguard looks out of place with the rest of the bass to me.
Doctor J
You'd need to get the council out to fill the pot holes in the back of the neck.
Reggaebass
not many original parts which would put me off but that’s just my preference 🙂, if they accepted a pretty cheeky offer it would be worth spending some money to get it how you want , I quite like the wear and the pickups might be original ?
thodrik
Looking at the 'People who also viewed this item' led me to this. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/175482894477?_trkparms=amclksrc%3DITM%26aid%3D1110006%26algo%3DHOMESPLICE.SIM%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D243356%26meid%3Da307fdd531e443d08998d681112d359d%26pid%3D101224%26rk%3D2%26rkt%3D5%26sd%3D325410992171%26itm%3D175482894477%26pmt%3D0%26noa%3D1%26pg%3D2047675%26algv%3DDefaultOrganicWebV9BertRefreshRanker%26brand%3DFender&_trksid=p2047675.c101224.m-1 Slightly newer, £100 more expensive but in much better condition. Has a jazz pickup fitted but this is a fairly common mod. Heavy lump though at 11lbs but I think I would pick that one instead.

Yeah, have spotted that one, weight and added pickup would be a no from me. I’m only lightly looking really, unlikely I’ll have the funds for a while haha. I would probably change the scratchplate as well as the tuners, but the price isn't too bad. I would want to check the date stamp on the neck / body and the serial number, just to be sure. Old Man Riva
… on a related (ish) theme - early 70s P Basses - Stacey’s have a music and entertainment auction scheduled for next Tuesday. According to the catalogue there’s a ‘74 Precision listed. Not sure how these things work but thought it worth a mention.
