50s style P bass, single coil, tele headstock. Any lightweight, non-slab ones?

but both are too weighty for my fragile back, sadly.  This one is under 8lbs (hopefully). :)

To keep it under 8lbs.

Ditch the Gotoh Hi Mass bridge, it sevres little purpose except add weight IMHO.

Ditto for the full size CTS pots, bloody massive cap and those 'heavy duty' knobs. Knobs alone weigh near 2 oz 😮

I hadn't thought about the knobs!  Looking at the pics the bridge looks like it is a touch forward as the E saddle is adjusted all the way back.  If needs be I could reposition it and repalce - I'll see how it is when it arrives.  I think I may have some Gotoh Resolite tuners somewhere, too.

Those Allparts necks are very very nice indeed, worth close to the asking price alone 👍

Chatting with the seller, he considered parting it out. Glad he didn't. I am sure this will be a better bass than any I would have put together but will most likely cost me less. 😊

Agreed. Not easy to sell the 50’s necks or bodies alone due to square heel/pocket, you got very lucky 👍

I've just got back from rehearsal to find bass has arrived.  Out of the box, tune up.  It is a tad heavier, just over 8lbs, on my scales but still on the lighter side of OK.  Has new roundwounds on, I prefer TI Flats - I'll change them tomorrow.  But - WOW - that neck.  😍  Sounds amazing, too.  I'll take some nice pics etc.
