PaulThePlug
Just having me some Budgie on the mp3 n headphones... Burke's P bass... lovely warm tone, cleanish light driven sound and smooth playing. Edited November 29, 2022 by PaulThePlug

Think I was 22 at the time and I didn’t really know who he was, but he was friendly and helpful. A true gent.

Budgie were my favourite band since I was still at school. Burke was a big influence so it was a no brainer for me. Funnily enough I played 6 string guitar first and Tony Bourge is the reason I'm playing at all ! Unfortunately my old 1969 Precision is a more recent purchase so it was way too late for the tribute. Mickeyboro
One of the most entertaining people I ever interviewed. Didn’t take himself seriously, hence the daft song titles.
Paul S
I saw them in 1975 at the Kursaal in Southend. It was an old dancehall with a sprung wooden floor and the whole place was like a trampline during Zoom Club. Fabulous.
chaypup
I knew Burke, but for a good while I had no idea of his significance or even that he was a bass player. He would often attend local jam nights and gigs and was always incredibly supportive. He is much missed.
