Double bass Acoustic Effects wanted

Recommended Posts

So for many years, i have always wanted to be a little different, and after seeing many bands, and listening to hundreds of albums.records cd's etc etc.... i thought about having a simple set up where i can have 3 pedals that for certain songs where I could click on one that would give me for example an echo effect or heavier bass, whether for the whole duration of a song or maybe just for a quick bass break? bass guitarists and guitarists etc all have pedals, and I know it is very hard to get some good gains (without the horrible clicky sound) with such an instrument as an acoustic 3/4 size fiddle with just a simple wedge into my bridge pick up...... am i making sense? Or do i need to leave....?

So a DB player that wants to try effects...

No a Elec Bass Player that wants to sound like a DB...

If the former, if you have a good pickup and play with the amplified sound to influence the acoustic sound enough...

Should not be an issue.

Where are you based(!)?

Sure someone may pay you with some pedals or multi FX for a play.

DB player wanting some effects, i get a good sound thru my amp, but i want to have effects thru pedals rather than stopping, walking to the amp, and fiddling with knobs and buttons, thanks for the reply

Unless you know exactly which effects you want (delay/echo/chorus/eq etc) then it could be helpful to get one of the cheap Zoom multi fx pedals and experiment untill you work what sound you want.
