New lefty on board

Hi all, I've been lurking here for a while now and have kept a close eye on the Lefty Marketplace-topic, and I thought it would be time to introduce myself and actually start posting.

I'm Jeroen from the Netherlands. I actually started out as a guitarist and still play guitar at a regular basis, but I mostly consider myself a bass player. I currently play in The Bullfight, we make somewhat dark pop with a slight folkrock edge. When our first album was reviewed by a Dutch magazine, they dubbed it 'pop noir' and that name kinda stuck with us, we like it :D .
Some of our music can be heard on our MySpace: http://www.myspace.com/thebullfight . The song "Nathalie, strangle me" features me on bass, the other three songs are more than 2 years old and were recorded with our former bassist.
Recently I also started playing bass in a female fronted metalband.

Currently, my gear consists of:
- Ellio Martina Forza 5, a high end fivestring somewhat Jazz-like instrument;
- Rickenbacker 4003;
- Fender MIJ '75 Jazz Bass reissue;
- G&L SB-2;
- Ibanez MIJ ATK300;
- Ibanez MIJ ATK305 (currently tuned ADGCF, a full note below low B tuning);
- Sandberg Bullet 5 fretless;
- Cort NTL-B acoustic fretless;
- Longbow American Classic 32" fretless 2-string.

All are played through an Ashdown ABM300 C210T EVO II with the ABM115 Compact extension cabinet, sometimes with an overdrive pedal (a Fulltone Bassdrive in The Bullfight, and an Ashdown James Lomenzo Hyperdrive in my metalband).
I also have a couple of guitars, but I won't bother you bass players with those :rolleyes:

Here are some pictures, please click for a bigger version.

The Ellio Martina Forza:

Both Ibanez ATK's:

G&L SB-2

2004 (?) Fender MIJ '75 Jazz reissue

The Sandberg Bullet 5 Fretless:

My Cort NTL-B fretless:

The Longbow:

(I'm the guy on the left, the 30" Longbow on the right used to be mine too, I played that one upside down with the strings reversed, but when Longbow announced they were in business again, in october, I ordered a brand new 32" lefty and sold the other one to the guy on the right).

If you want to know more about me or any of my instruments, please feel free to bump in :)

And rightly so, they're great basses! I actually thought I had a second MIJ ATK305 on its way as a backup for the one I already have, but the eBay-seller appears to have disappeared from the face of the earth. Doesn't respond to any message, doesn't respond to my request to send me the full payment details...

Luckily I hadn't payed it yet :)
**run's over and hug's you** lefty with a rick! :rolleyes:
LOL, thanks!

I'd been wanting one for a long time but never found an affordable one. New they were nearly all well in excess of 2400 euros and the only affordable secondhand 4003 that I ever found when on the lookout was sold before I could say 'MINE!'. When the exchange rate of the British Pound dropped so low last January, I bought one new from guitarguitar.co.uk for 1516 Pounds, which at that moment was about 1600 euros. So I saved about 800 euros in comparison to the European mainland prices! I haven't regretted it even once, the only thing I regret is that I didn't buy one sooner! What a great bass! In The Bullfight it has replaced my Ellio Martina as my main axe. Both are amazing basses in their own right, but the Martina sounds like a '70s Jazz Bass on steroids with those big singlecoils and the built-in Aguilar OBP-3, so lots of punch and a bright edge, much more modern than the Rick. The Rick fits our music perfectly :)

Wow! cool ;) being a lefty it is a bit like being handicapped. :rolleyes: they sting you in the pocket for guitars. I very nearly got my hand's on one a few year's back for about 1500. The dam bank transfer didn't go through quick enough and the guy freckin sold it! got my money back, well most of it. i was not happy. i think the guy may have been trying to scam me. some guy over in Miami. One day i'll get one or even a copy would be nice but i think lefty copies are like rocking horse poo. :) any hoo your Ric look's great. :lol:
