I wandered into a shop today and nabbed a Flyte...

Thats different!

Looks like the E and G should go tother side of the peg...

And thats a mighty pointy headstock, could have some ones eye out!

Is the headstock different colouring down to lighting or a reflection?

I have a Burns flyte guitar I’m rebuilding.
The Mach one humbusters are original to the bass but it looks like a refinish due to lack of decals.

The most popular colours were silver (there was a problem with the paint and they turned green) and natural finish.

Slade had a bass (recorded on at least one track) and guitar, also Marc Bolan was pictured with one

Heres a link for more info

🙂
Yes, I think it may be a refin; I remembered them as silver and with the logo.

River-<something>?

Coincidentally, the shop also had a headless project in the storage area when we went looking for the Flyte's case (haha - a Flyte case!).

That’s ace. And 15/16 frets is plenty.

I made it 21, but admittedly had to use my third hand to get there. :D

Is it just the one tuner that's missing? Not that finding a replacement is likely to be easy.

I have for sale on eBay a Burns Flyte bass guitar body and neck made by Sherwood in the 70’s. The serial number on the neck is 371 and the body is 254.

I've seen that - could be an interesting project, but finding parts could be a challenge.

An interesting interpretation of a Riverhead interpretation of a Flyte on eBay.

That's been up for a while, think it's been discussed here too. Originally made for Matt Pegg, son of Dave (Fairport Convention) - Dave loved his Riverhead Unicorn so much he wrote a song about it!
