YouMa
I'm more into nude jazz/funk/soul/rare groove etc. A metal mate forced me listen to some Type O Negative. Have to admit this is probably the first rock bass player i really liked apart from John Paul Jones and the usual crowd. Shame the guy died he seemed like a decent bloke judging by the interviews i have watched. I thought their cover of Cinnamon Girl was better than Neil Youngs. Bassassin
I was a big Peter Steele/Type O fan, absolutely gutted when he died. Fantastic band, saw them a good few times & they were a big influence on the gothy aspect of the band I was in in the early '00s. IMO Peter's huge overdriven tone defined their sound as much as his vocals did. And they wrote the best Christmas song:
madshadows
Absolutely love the Type O Negative albums, Peter Steele passing away was a total tragedy, great singer, player and songwriter, Bloody Kisses and October Rust are my favourite TON albums John 😎
Dood
October Rust for me, I was a little late to the party but that album is great.

fretmeister
What is nude jazz? I'm wondering if that is what I've been playing in my house for all this time!
Bolo
Carnivore was a much MUCH better initiative than Type-o. Brutally honest.
YouMa
Nude Jazz was just a joke from Viz. Lol. I do like jazz though.
Cosmo Valdemar
I adore Type O Negative. In my miserable teenage years I was all about World Coming Down but I now realise the lush romanticism of October Rust is just perfection. Peter Steele is one of those immediately identifiable players, a unique style and tone. It probably wouldn't work anywhere else but for TON it's perfect. I'm so happy I got to see them live. All the time you appreciate Peter's tongue was wedged firmly in his cheek. In fairness the same is true of a lot of Type O material.
ubit
I agree that their version of Cinnamon girl is better than Neil Youngs. I have played it to death. I love them and have all of their material. A pale Horse called death are worth a listen too.
SteveXFR
I love a bit of Type O Negative. A great place to start a long and dark journey to the underbelly of metal
Skybone
I never "got" Type O, loads of my friends loved them, but they never clicked for me.
ARGH
Still the only Band and musician that looked and sounded EXACTLY as I thought they would in the flesh, live. Pete's 'Sizzle' sound (as he called it) was from him customizing his cabs with loads of bullet tweeters
