Reggae bassline for The Weeknd's "Blinding Lights. Ummm...

My band has suggested we do a reggae version of this song. I'm scratching my head about how to play the bassline. Any suggestions, please?

I don’t know the song but from a quick listen I can see the Bassline working to a reggae rhythm , maybe cut the notes shorter  or experiment with muting a few of them so you are leaving a bit of space, I would also play with fingers and not a pick, and turn up the bass 😁, the beginning of this doesn’t sound too bad
