mikel
Just now, Old Horse Murphy said: I'm sure I'm not the only one.... d True, financially, but spiritually rich beyond belief. I read somewhere recently about a guy complaining to his mentor or mate that he wasn't very good at his hobbies/pastimes. Playing an instrument, art, sport etc. His mate countered "You dont need to be great at something you love, the fact you do these things, and the experiences they have given you, make you rounder as a human and make you more interesting." I will settle for that.

Lozz196
Yep I’ve made no serious money from music but the experiences I’ve had through learning how to play a musical instrument are invaluable, wouldn’t trade them at all.
Grewster
Same here …. been playing for 50 years plus. Never really made much money at it, but the love of playing music has taken me places and introduced me to people I would never have met otherwise. It’s been an obsession that ruined both my education and social life, still does and I don’t regret any of it!
FinnDave
Playing in bands has certainly enriched my life, but has also drained my bank account!
BassFace1991
Indeed. Like everyone else I've made sweet FA money out of it. But the experiences and friends I've made through it are priceless. I'd certainly be a lot worse off without it and sometimes in my life it's really been the only thing that kept me going.
