World Cup sign off uses the power of love as sound track!

I’ll bet (fellow scouser) Holly Johnson, an obvious Gay icon, is absolutely livid at the use of FGTH song “the power of love” being used to sign off the World Cup, given the Arab nations views on homosexuality.

 

i can only imagine Holly /FGTH sold the rights years ago and have no say in the matter as I can’t imagine him/them agreeing to its use at all….

Wasn't this just for the BBC coverage and not the official FIFA ending song, and if so was almost certainly done as an ironic gesture to the Qatar/FIFA approach?

Yeah maybe the beeb throwing a jibe at it all, but it did make me think …..

 

i would very much doubt that holly johnson would approve with the notion that the whole World Cup thing had be driven by the power of love. 
it’s certainly clear who the hooded claw is that’s for sure.

ZTT is now owned by Universal Music. Holly Johnson escaped the clutches of ZTT a while ago. So suspect he no longer has publishing rights.
