Ooh, minty.  Noice.

You could do, but I would get the hacksaw out and keep the pups as-is.  Different, innit.

Well…the “P” sound I desire isn’t as “P-y” as I’d like…

so, I might give it a go.

if it’s not right, I’ll keep the plate and pickup and I can return it to stock pickup/body.

Maybe - @Machineshas a spare P pickup from a mexi standard - he’s hopefully offering it up.

If the general sound Is working - I will invest.

traditional P in the middle?

When I read ‘traditional P in the middle’, my (aged!) mind thought you were moving the existing J pup to the neck and putting the P in the middle!

So a HBJ, P, HBJ mega combination!

😂

P/Jazzbucker is a great pickup configuration in my opinion. I have it in my Maruszsczyk and it sings.

I imagine two of them is the sonic equivalent of a sledge hammer?

Hmm.

It’s good - but I wonder if that traditional split P might add in a little warmth

Bit too much IPA in the blood to start tonight.

but…lovely @Machines sent me a Mexican Standard Fender P pickup he had spare.

so I’m going to give it a go.

Done the approximate groundwork for tomorrow morning’s episode of “woodwork with a brew”.

Looks great, the MXR style knobs look cool too!

Edit.

Just noticed the knobs were already there… they just stand out more now…. Lol.
